FAQs

SEO is a must if you want to perform well in search engine results. However proper and professional SEO is a laundry list of quality standards, not cheap tricks to ‘game’ the system. SEO has been given a bad name by people that not only use cheating methods to try to manipulate the system, using what is now commonly referred to as “Black Hat” techniques, but also over-promising and touting false claims to get the sale. Google has made some impressive changes to identify and then penalize sites that are found trying to ‘game the system.’ At Id Est Productions, we have highly trained experts and stay on the cutting edge of what works and employ a carefully crafted SEO strategy for our clients.

We love this question. It’s a lot like saying, How much does a car cost? Or a house. There are so many factors that must be considered. One thing we urge clients to think about though is, please don’t let price be your only consideration. A cheap website won’t do you much good. It takes a team of quality professionals, time, and resources to build a proper website that will get the job done. If your objective is to be found on the web, make the right impression to your visitors, and convert them to clients or customers, this doesn’t come in a “web in a box” solution.
With that said, we feel — apples to apples — our prices are extremely competitive.

Yes we do. In fact, unlike many web design firms, professional SEO is a crucial aspect included in every website we build. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a list of things that are done to maximize how well a website will perform on SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). This includes both on-page and off-page efforts. When we build a website, we build it in a team effort with an SEO expert included from the start, before the first pixel is created.

Backlinks from quality sites are like ‘votes’ on your behalf. One of the factors considered in search engines’ complex algorithms that determine how well your site will perform on search engine results pages, is how popular you are.  Some links to you cast more ‘votes’ than others. For example, links from .gov, or .edu typically cast a lot of votes. Links from some other sites (in “bad neighborhoods”) can actually hurt you terribly. Your link building strategy is an important part of your overall performance on the web.

As with most people in the industry we recommend about every 2-3 years. There are many things to consider, though. A fresh new design is just one of the considerations. More important is functionality and performance. If your site’s performance and objectives can be improved with a newly designed site, it’s probably time to consider doing it.

Responsive web design (RWD) is simply a fluid grid design concept that calls for page element sizing to be in relative units like percentages, rather than absolute units like pixels or points. This is done to provide your site visitors with an optimal viewing experience — easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling — regardless of what type of device they are using, from mobile phones to tablets, to desktop computer monitors.
